General Statement of Duties:
The Director of Client Services manages WFCM's emergency assistance program for individuals and families seeking help with food, rent/utilities, and other basic needs. The Director also runs financial education programming, including the Pathways to Success program. The Director supervises a team of one additional full-time staff member and volunteers.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manages the emergency assistance and financial education programs of WFCM
2. Works with Executive Director to establish guidelines/procedures for client assistance and oversees compliance with these guidelines/procedures
3. Conducts initial intakes and needs assessment interviews with clients seeking emergency assistance
4. Provides monthly financial counseling to Pathways to Success clients and monitors progress toward program outcomes
5. Accepts and makes referrals to Coordinated Services Planning and other resources
6. Approves disbursements of financial assistance; Makes pledges for rent and utility bills for clients, as needed
7. Makes referrals for food, clothing, and household goods, as needed
8. Tracks and balances all expenditures for client assistance
9. Oversees annual re-certifications for all clients on a rolling basis throughout the year
10. Updates and maintains individual client files and database
11. Manages data for reporting of outcomes in compliance with grant and requirements of Fairfax County, United Way, and other funding sources; Completes and submits required reports for funders
12. Trains and supervises client services staff and volunteers
13. Maintains client referral/resource directory and connects individuals and families with needed and available community resources
14. Coordinates client appointments with Food Pantry Managers
15. Follows-up with clients at 30, 60, and 90 days
16. Assists with Holiday Food program and other client programming
• An MSW or experience in social work/case management is preferred
• Willingness to work collaboratively with WFCM staff, volunteers, and donors; Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Respect for the dignity and worth of all clients
• Agreement with the mission of WFCM and ability to confidently communicate this mission to the public
• Proficiency in basic office software; Knowledge of Salesforce or other data management systems preferred
• You are comfortable with a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize work tasks and carry out multiple tasks at the same time
Minimum Level of Education
Bachelors Degree (BA, BS, etc...)
Masters Degree (MA, MS, MSW, etc...)

What's on the menu:
• You'll serve as chief client case manager for WFCM, in partnership with the Executive Director and Board.
• On our team, communication is essential! You'll be a key member of the senior leadership team. In partnership with the ED, you'll ensure close coordination between client services and programs in achieving organization-wide goals and implementing our strategic plan.
• You'll supervise all aspects of WFCM's client services strategy, including financial emergency services, our Pathways to Success program, and our financial education and empowerment classes.
• You'll go the extra mile to help our clients and make sure they have experienced God's love while at WFCM

What you bring to the table:
• Respect for the dignity and worth of all people
• An MSW or prior experience in case management, particularly with underserved populations
• Experience in tracking data in a relational database
• Outgoing personality and willingness to spend the time needed with clients
• A team and communication-focused work style
• Fluency in SPANISH is a plus
