Inova Health Foundation Event Management Internship

Do you enjoy the excitement and pressure associated with special events? Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in the event management and non-profit industry? Inova Health Foundation is pleased to offer the Event Management Internship Program. This experience will provide the opportunity to assist the Special Events Department with a variety of fundraisers, golf tournaments and receptions, in particular, its signature events the Inova Honors Dinner, and the Inova Summit Weekend. In addition, our intern will learn valuable skills in event coordination, time management, multi-tasking and marketing/communications, as well as gain an understanding of not-for-profit fundraising.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with database management - documenting participation, attendance, financial support and special needs
• Solicit and track incoming live and silent auction items
• Support in the coordination of collateral materials including such items as: invitations, event programs, nametags, table assignments, marketing materials, etc.
• Assist with preparation and reporting for Foundation leadership and volunteer committee meetings
• Assist with mailings, donor cultivation events, and marketing of the Foundation
• Onsite event support - event setup/breakdown, registration, giveaway distribution
• Assist with finding third party event opportunities in the community and attend these events as a Foundation representative

Volunteer Coordinator

To build and coach a team of volunteers to compassionately engage clients in support of the programs and mission of OAR

Key Responsibilities:

• Build a team of Service Coordinators to staff the OAR front desk:
o Recruit, train and supervise a team of Service Coordinators
o Develop and maintain a procedures manual for Service Coordinators
o Identify a team leader to assist with managing volunteer schedules and coverage
o Ensuring the completion of front desk administrative tasks
o Provide coverage at the OAR front desk in the absence of Service Coordinators
• Assists in the recruitment for all volunteer positions
• Plan and conduct trainings, Information Sessions, Orientations, and Continuing Education and Volunteer Appreciation events
• Perform interviews with prospective volunteers and coordinate placement in appropriate roles
• Create and maintain volunteer profiles and records
• Collect and record volunteer hours and surveys
• Perform and oversee data entry of volunteer activities
• Assist in the successful operation of the Family Outreach Desk at the ADC
• Monitor and supervise volunteer activities to ensure adherence to specific program goals
• Assist in managing relationships with OAR agency partners and community organizations
• Assist with partnership development
• Identify best practices to ensure the effectiveness of the volunteer program

Jail Programs Coordinator - Loudoun County

The Jail Programs Coordinator (JPC) under direction will manage the administrative system that provides for the weekly operation of all programs in the Loudoun ADC and assist with outreach and volunteer support. (16 hours per week)
