Project Description

Fairfax County's 275th birthday celebration will take place Saturday, June 17, from 10 to 4, on the grounds of the Fairfax County Courthouse Complex at the intersection of Routes 236 and 123 in Fairfax. Since this affair is totally run by volunteers with some help from County Staff, we are looking to fill a lot of volunteer posts. We need setup and take down help before and after, and lots of help during the open hours (as venue assistants - helping to staff the various activities and stations). Many are suitable for family groups; others need people with the ability to set up haybales, tables and chairs, move around the celebration site, and more. You can find all the opportunities and the sign up site at the Celebration web site at http://www.fairfax275.org/.  Please email Kim Luckabaugh, VFC Coordinator, with the opportunity you signed up to provide volunteer support since that system is outside of the VF database.

Near the top of the web site on the right you will find a red box that says Volunteer. Click there and it will take you to the specific jobs. Just select any opportunity of your choice and sign up. We welcome people and groups wanting to do some community service and take part in an event that should be great fun for families. The events that day provide a chance to learn more about the years since the county was founded on June 19, 1742.
