Project Description

Community Residences, Inc. (CR) provides programs and services to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health needs. These quality services enable individuals with a wide range of disabilities to live as independently as possible.

While public funding provides basic needs and services for our residents, it is volunteer efforts that assist CR in providing community integration. Community members engaged with our program residents is much more than the service projects. Projects hosted by volunteers or groups is truly a special treat for the individuals supported by CR. It provides increased happiness, a sense of belonging and feeling welcomed by the community.

We are looking to coordinate group based projects so gather a group of friends, family, co-workers or neighbors that are interested in completing a service project benefiting our residents. Projects for May are garden preparation and planting at various CR programs.

A minimum of 3 people are needed per group and we have over 40 locations in Northern Virginia, as well as sites in Richmond and Maryland, interested in having groups so we can find a location that is convenient to your group. Days and times are flexible as well. Youth can volunteer alongside a parent with a signed waiver.

We thank you for your kindness and support!
